You are going to make a children's machzor for Rosh Hashana.

And this is how you do it:

1. Think about what is happening on Rosh Hashana in shul and at home and:

a. Choose 1 topic or object that has to do with hearing

b. Choose 1 topic or object that has to do with seeing

c. Choose 1 topic or object that has to do with talking

d. Choose 1 topic or object that has to do with eating

2 Look at your list. Think about the child that is going to use the machzor. What else should it know about Rosh Hashana ?Are there more topics or objects you would like to include?  You can add up to four extra. Be sure to include something new that you studied in Unit Hey.

3 Click on the apples for extra information on Rosh Hashana. See also under RESOURCE

4 Look for an illustration for each of the objects. You can draw them yourself or take pictures with a camera. Or look in the books under RESOURCE

5 Use your computer to make an A-5 (= half a regular page) describing the first topic or object of your choice, or handwrite it. Make another A-5 page with an illustration. Make descriptions and illustrations for your whole list. You can do this alone, or together with a friend or your parent(s).

6 Think about how your machzor will look like. You can paste the pages into a copybook, or stick them between the plastic pages of a photo album. Don't forget to make a cover. Choose a nice title for your machzor, and don't forget to tell that it was you who made this beautiful machzor!

7 Bring the machzor to shul on Rosh Hashana and give it to a child to look at, read and learn. It will feel especially welcome in your shul!
