| 17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thy heart; thou shalt
surely rebuke thy neighbour, and not bear sin because of him. |
|
| 18 Thou shalt not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against
the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as
thyself: I am the LORD. |

Rationale
Most Limudei Kodesh curriculums are set up to only deal with the cognitive
domain. They do not venture into the affective area of the student's
life. There often are assumptions made that just
because the student learns about a topic in school, they will
automatically apply it to their lives. Rarely do students discuss
the real life applications and difficulties in observing the commandments
that affect interpersonal behaviors.
Modern psychology has shown that until teenagers are able to
recognize the feelings they experience while they undergo an interaction
with another person, they cannot begin to deal appropriately with their
response.
Aside
from this, when there is a student who has difficulty with text skills,
since the texts being taught seems to have no relevance to them, the
student is totally disinterested. By making the the text relevant,
it will motivate the student with textual learning difficulties to
persevere.
