Teaching Guides

Introduction

All WIT participants will create a teaching guide for their curriculum web or WebQuest. The guide is an explicit plan for a sustained process of teaching and learning, containing the following elements:

  • aim
  • rationale
  • description of audience
  • description of subject-matter
  • learning objectives
  • instructional plan
  • list of materials
  • plan for assessment and evaluation

Every person should write their own draft teaching guide, even those working as part of a team. At the initial stage of planning, it's good to have space to do some personal imagining about what the module will do. Later, after the team has finalized its module plans, everyone can work together to merge individual teaching guides into a group effort.

Now take a brief look at the WIT Curriculum Web Assessment Rubrics:

WIT Advanced participants will be using these rubrics during WIT to assist them in developing an attractive web with a solid curriculum plan behind it.
